Our December photo of a 2016 Zenith 750 Cruzer that has just taken off from Salida, Colorado (elevation 7,523 feet) was taken by its former owner. Chapter 501's Eric Sampson, on November 10, was on his way on another ferry flight, this time to the ship's new owner in Granbury, Texas, near Dallas. In the distance to the west are snow-capped 14,000 foot peaks on the Continental Divide. The road over Monarch Pass to Gunnison is just out of sight to the left of the photo.

On a cloudy, calm October 23 day with great visibility, Chapter 501's final Young Eagles event of the year out of Lincoln Park Airport required only 3 hours for nine of our pilots to take 96 youngsters aloft on the loop around Wanaque Reservoir. Our November calendar photo captured a number of them showing off their Young Eagles flight certificates by Gene Spitzer's Beechcraft S35. Gene had flown 12 kids that day.

Steve Vail flew the Luscombe out of Aeroflex on August 17 and 18 and group-emailed us a string of photos of his perfect weather "Dawn Patrols"... down the Hudson corridor and over the Water Gap. Mike Dzurny noted in reply, "Nice photo... framed perfectly between the wing strut and the vacuum pump".

What puts the venture in AirVenture is the fun of camping in fast-changing weather. Jon Seibert's July 23 and 24 photos told the story. A rainy and windy cold front blew through on Saturday afternoon rearranging anything that wasn't tied down. Sunday was beautiful.

On his trip delivering a Cessna 170B from Anchorage, Alaska to Holdrege, Nebraska, he got our July calendar photo as he passed the Matanuska Glacier about 80 miles northeast of Anchorage.

On October 22, 2021 Chapter 501 conducted its second of three Young Eagles WorkShops, each one focusing on specialized aviation content that introduces kids to the basic elements of airplanes and aviation. Our March calendar photo features Young Eagle Lia Valente being assisted by Lincoln Park Aviation owner Frank Gallella in the operation of a rivet squeezer. Among other things, Young Eagles that day learned about the fasteners used in aircraft sheet metal work by manufacturing their own personal cellphone holders. This photo and Ron Reinartz' recap of our Young Eagles WorkShop also appeared in the February Sport Aviation Magazine on Page 112.
